  16. Kong. Born in Hungary, Ladany went to China as a Jesuit to study
  17. Chinese in 1939. But the 1949 revolution forced him to flee to
  18. Hong Kong, where he began publishing China News Analysis. The
  19. journal became essential reading for Asian experts around the
  20. world for its accurate, detailed reporting.
